Webley Mk3 Air Rifle Serial Numbers For Sale
Hello, I recently purchased a Webley MKVI with matching serial numbers. My concern is that the fonts and the skill with which the numbers were applied vary considerably the frame, barrel and cylinder. Is this unusual? Did different artisans stamp the various components? As the barrel has an acceptance stamp indicating 1918, and the Webley logo is dated 1915, I'm wondering if the cylinder and barrel might have been mated to an earlier frame. I would be grateful for any thoughts on this matter. Cheers, Bil
